Marcus Aurelius’ Sense of Equality
Everything Marcus Aurelius inherited from his father, he gave to his sister. When his mother asked him to share the inheritance equally with his sister, he replied that he was content with being his grandfather’s heir.
He further suggested that his mother, too, if she was willing, should give her property to his sister so she might be equal to her husband.
